Business Class Experience on Emirates
This post is part of my Bali trip. I realized it would be way too long if I put my entire experience in one blog, so I broke it down to main parts of the trip. Now on what it was like flying business class with Emirates.
Emirates is known for having some of the best amenities for international travel mostly for their lavish business and first class offerings. Lucky for me, I was upgraded to Business class on the first leg of the trip to Bali. I did not know what to do with myself when I decided to keep the upgrade (more on that here). As they pointed me in the direction of my seat, I felt like I was in a whole new world. I kept waiting for someone to tell me "There has been a mistake ma'am, please leave". Behind business class were the economy seats, in their 3x4x3 configuration, business class on the other hand had a 2x3x2 configuration and only about 4 rows, so it was much more spacious. The seats are mini cabins that fully recline into a bed when you want to sleep. Pillow, socks, blanket were provided. The seats even had a tablet that was installed so that you can remove to watch tv if you did not want to use the screen in front of you. All meals came fully plated and actual dinnerware was used - drinking and wine glasses, Royal Doulton bone china plates, and Robert Welch cutlery. The finest of wines were offered with every meal with Valrhona chocolate to top off the meal. Of course you cannot be in business class and not look fabulous, so Emirates provided a dopp kit including Bulgari amenities - perfume, body lotion and nourishing face emulsion and other necessities. Even the bathrooms came with full size Bulgari perfume for men and women, toothbrush toothpaste, shaving supplies and wash clothes. And the food! The fooood! I felt like I was in a restaurant. For one of my meals I got lamb shank and the meat was so tender and flavorful, I forgot I was eating 40,000 feet above the Atlantic Ocean. Kudos to the chefs.
This whole experience was not bad at all for a newbie in business class. My other flights on this trip were also with Emirates, and I must say the overall experience was great. The attendants were friendly, the food was yummy, and I loved the stars that lit up on the ceiling at night! I am so glad I got to experience business class and I'm working hard so that it won't be the last time.
